Challenge Accepted [Daily Prompt: Indulgent]

It’s my first time trying The Daily Prompt Challenges and I’m starting with The Best Day Ever or Indulgent. And the first thing I thought of when I saw the word Indulgent was Antoni Gaudi’s La Sagrada Família. Is that strange?

While some people see the word indulgent as negative, in the case of La Sagrada Família, the indulgence and ambition of its design is what makes this landmark so great! And we have Antoni Gaudí to thank for this monumental work of art that is estimated to finish only in 2026. A hundred years after Antoni Gaudí’s death in 1926!

I didn’t get the chance to go into La Sagrada Família as I made the mistake of not getting a tour through Viator which allows tourists to skip the long lines to enter the premises. But I did manage to get a photo of the front of the La Sagrada Família as well as a photograph of it from the rooftop of another one of Antoni Gaudí’s buildings.

On my next visit to this city, I will go on another Antoni Gaudí binge and visit all the buildings he designed in Barcelona! But for now, I can just ogle at this digital imagining of Gaudí’s La Sagrada Família.

Also, look out for my post on his work in the My Week In Barcelona – December 2011 series.
