The SIA Brat – In New York City
I love taking photographs of flags. Yeah… I know, I know. Who on earth would know, or care, where I snapped this photo of the US flag right? Well, I would. It’s not just any flag. It’s a flag I photographed when I visited Lady Liberty. As you can tell from the pretty bright blue sky, it was taken on a hot sunny day. And it was windy too. It’s a flag that reminds me of the awesome trip I had with my colleagues after 2 months of preparations for the Singapore Day event in New York City.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’. Well, this picture spoke to me indeed, despite the fact that I took this photograph more than a year ago. This is a flag that spoke a thousand words. Well, 257 words at least.
In fact, while scouring my photograph database for my first photographic post for this new site, I realised that I’ve taken photographs of a number of flags. I took one in Norway. And the most recent flag photo I took was in Greece. Okay, okay, it doesn’t sound like many. But its undeniable. I love flags. Aways have. So there’ll be more flag photos to come. Be sure to look out for it.
What do you think?
Do you have a thing for flags too? I used to play a game of ‘guess the country the flag belongs to’. Which country’s flag is your favourite?
